There's something very fulfilling about creating with our own hands. It's a contentment that comes from the deepest, most basic level of yourself. A few years back, as a mother and homemaker, I found all my energies devoted to managing my home and raising my young family. The part of me that found beauty in nature, the part of me that loved art with a passion, the part of me that wanted to bring grace and elegance into the world was fading away.

That was when pottery found me.

Through pottery, I started finding back the creative parts of me that were getting lost daily life. The pottery gave me a profound sense of calm and immense satisfaction. I learned pottery from Mubarrakka at 'Touch of clay' in Dubai and then went on to do a short course at Andretta pottery in India.

From the time I have started to learn pottery, I try to meet potters in other cities and online, to see and gain inspiration and improvise on my work. But the most valuable learning for me started when I set up my home studio. Be it nature or history, current affairs, or family, anything could inspire a new piece. I got so deeply involved in the process of learning, introspecting, and creating that each article I created was unique and thus beautiful.

My motto - do what you love, love what you do and the best will come out. Handbuilt products have perfections in their imperfections. Being a potter reflects my personality. Each piece I create has a part of me. So that makes my work perfectly imperfect.
